SAC Meeting (4/2023): PM delivers a remark at the meeting in Nay Pyi Taw

The State Administration Council held its meeting (4/2023) at the SAC Chairman office in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday with an address by Chairman of the SAC Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

The meeting was attended by SAC Vice Chairman Vice Senior General Soe Win, Secretary Lt-Gen Aung Lin Dway, Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, the Council member and officials.

At the meeting, Chairman of the SAC Prime Minister said that the State Administration Council is the country's highest organization that is responsible for the state. In carrying out the tasks, it needs to perform as a model, to bring the welfares of the state and the people and build trust.

The Prime Minister added that they are implementing for the prosperity of the state, sufficiency of food and water as the 2 national work programs and strengthening a genuine, disciplined multi-party democratic system and building a Union based on democracy and federalism as two political processes.

In implementing these work programs, 5-Point Road Map and 9-objectives were adopted at the time of their government. The country is rich in above and underground resources, natural resources and human resources but it left behind in development as they can’t be used effectively.

If the country can implement the Road Maps and objectives correctly along with ensuring peace and stability, it will stand in the middle level among the regional countries in a few years.

The senior military officers and local personnel have been assigned in trust as the SAC members by observing taking responsibilities of the state in the past and performance of the tasks. He said that resignation will be made and effective actions will be taken to some members due to self-interest by using the position and authority. He also talked about the performances of the council members for regional development in the respective regions.

The Council members reported making trips to the respective regions, the needs for education, health, economy and regional development, people desire to live and work in peace, good prospects for internal peace despite being instigated by some international organizations at the ethnic areas and technical and infrastructures requirements to produce value-added products regionally.

Late, the Joint Secretary of the SAC reported on measures for anti-terrorist activities and law enforcement for the stability of the state, seizures of arms and ammunitions from terrorists, emphasizing on elimination of narcotic-drugs, exposing of illegal trading and plans to take effective actions to those who sell oil and commodities with excessive prices rather than the set one and to departmental officials involved in the activity in line with the law and coordinating the reports of the regions.

In response to the reports, the Prime Minister said that assistance will be provided in the regional needs of education, health, economy and regional development by leveling. He also stressed on generating hydropower in the region due the electricity demand to produce value-added products and fulfilling basic infrastructures.

In his conclusion, the Prime Minister said that the ultimate goal of the State Administration Council is to hold a free and fair multi-party general election. It needs to collect nationwide census for the correct voter lists. By enumerating the census, it will provide the correct voter lists but also the necessary data for the country development.

That’s why, the pilot census will be collected starting 1st October and the 2024 nationwide census collection will be carried out as a follow-up. He also said to hold the 8th Anniversary of Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) with full essence, invitation of attendees to the event and called for all NCA signatories and non-signatories to attend the event for ensuring peace.
