SAC Information Team: Explanation on the attack to the delegation in Kachin State

Leader of the Information Team of the State Administration Council Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun responded the accusation by the media concerning the attack on the Chinese delegation who are on a trip to discuss the establishment of Nan Kyin Economic Zone near Myitkyina in Kachin State. 

The Maj-Gen said there are accusations that the delegation was comprised with the Chinese Minister Counsellor and the attack was launched by the Border Guard Troop. He explained that it was the delegation of Chinese military delegation who came to Myitkyina for monthly regular meeting for border security. And the attack was launched by KIA group.

Leader, SAC Information Team, Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun said "There are regular meetings that have been held monthly for border security. For this meeting, a Chinese military delegation came here in the morning of June 27th, via Kan Paik Tee Border Gate. The military officers and the Border Guard Troupe welcomed them at the border gate. Among the motorcade, the second inspection vehicle of Border Guard Troop has been hit five time by small gun. For this, the security forces made counter action. The motorcade then left for Myitkyina, and held the meeting as schedule. The Chinese military delegation has already returned to their country. We can confirmed that the attack was launched by KIA to instigate misunderstanding between the two countries and the two armies."

The Maj-Gen continued that the necessary security measures will be carried out.
