
South Korean Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum said that the government can impose the strongest social distancing measures, if the current COVID surge is not brought under control within two or three days.
Kim met with the government cabinet members on Wednesday and pleaded for public vigilance, such as refraining from holding social gatherings and cooperating with government efforts by getting tested. The country enters another surge with most of its people still unvaccinated. The 1,212 new cases were confirmed by Korea Disease Control.
