Russia's Tu-22 strategic bomber

On Wednesday evening, Russian news agencies cited the country's Defence ministry as reporting the crash of a Tu-22M3 bomber in the Siberian region of Irkutsk, due to a "technical malfunction".

The Irkutsk region governor Igor Kobzev said in a post on his official Telegram channel that the crew of four had ejected, with one member "dying after he had landed". Kobzev later updated his post adding that the bomber was carrying out a "scheduled flight" as it "hit a power line", leaving over 200 homes without electricity.
