Russia's Lavrov meets President Nicolas Maduro in Caracas

Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met with Venezuelan President Nicolas in Caracas, as part of his tour of Latin American countries.

They discussed expanding their cooperation in the oil sector and exploring the "peaceful use of nuclear energy” on Tuesday. In Caracas, Lavrov also met his Venezuelan counterpart and Vice President and discussed expanding cooperation in oil production, gas field development, agriculture, medicine and pharmaceuticals. Lavrov will travel to Brazil next to attend a G20 foreign ministers meeting.
