Russian naval ships dock in Jakarta for joint exercises

According to the Russian embassy in Jakarta, a Russian naval unit including a submarine was docked in Jakarta on Tuesday for joint training with Indonesia. The ships arrived on Sunday at Jakarta's Tanjung Priok port and will do joint training in maneuvers and communications.

Pieter Pandie who is an Indonesian think tank, told the reporters that the Russian visit was mainly symbolic and the Indonesia motive was clear of wanting to engage with all partners under country’s President Prabowo Subianto's so-called 'Good Neighbor Policy'.
