Russian-Myanmar Forum: Information and Technological Solutions

Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations and Aquarius Company jointly organized the Russian-Myanmar Forum of Information and Technological Solutions: “Aquarius Day” on Thursday at MICC II in Nay Pyi Taw.

SAC Member Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya TunOo, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Defence Admiral Tin Aung San, SAC Member Lt-Gen Nyo Saw, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Planning and Finance U Win Shein, union ministers and many other Myanmar and Russian officials as well as IT experts attended the forum.

In his speech, the Union Minister for Transport and Communications said the purpose of forum is to support Myanmar's digital transformation and development of e-Government system. It is important to promote cooperation in the fields of communication and information technology as Myanmar and Russia are making efforts for multi-sectoral cooperation, he added.

Also, Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr. Kan Zaw highlighted local and regional cooperation for the development of e-Government system. The Russian Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Iskander Azizov also stressed that the forum is designed to speed up the friendship and technical cooperation between the two countries, to support Myanmar's digital transformation and the development of the e-Government system through technology exchange with the Russian IT companies including Aquarius and to have a better understanding of IT Solution experiences and products.

Also, Chairman of the Aquarius Company Mr. Vladimir Stepanov discussed free and sustainable Russia-Myanmar international technical cooperation. This forum focused on technological partners, Myanmar's digital transformation, technology sector security, servers and storage systems, communication technology solutions, information security solutions, solutions for technology users, ecosystem solution and products.

It’s reported that the Union Minister for Transport and Communications and the Union Minister for Investment and Economic Relations also received the delegation led by the Russian Ambassador and Chairman of the Aquarius Company and discussed the issues that the two countries can cooperate on information security and ICT technology.
