Russian lower house of parliament on Tuesday voted for legislation to broaden the definition of undesirable organizations, making it possible to outlaw any foreign organization.

State Duma MPs vote to remove the word "non-governmental" from the federal law, which previously only covered foreign non-governmental organizations. The three-bill set still requires sign off by the upper house and President Vladimir Putin.
