Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin on Saturday visited the site where an explosion caused the partial collapse of a bridge linking the Crimean Peninsula with the mainland. Cars were moving in batches of about 60 in one direction, said Russian Minister for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Disaster Management Aleksandr Kurenkov.

Earlier, Russian authorities said a truck bomb caused the blast on the bridge. Nobody immediately claimed responsibility for the blast, which killed three people. Following the explosion, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree tightening security for the bridge and for energy infrastructure in the area, and put Russia’s federal security service, the FSB, in charge of the effort.
