Russian delegation in NPT: SAC member and Union Ministers received the delegation

The delegation led by Mr. Khasikov Batu Sergeevich, Head of the Republic of Kalmykia of the Russian Federation, arrived in Nay Pyi Taw via Yangon by air in the morning on 10th December.

They were welcomed by Deputy Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Aye Tun, members of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, and officialsat Nay Pyi Taw International Airport.Later, the State Administration Council Member U Mahn Nyein Maung and Union Ministers received the Head of Kalmykia and delegation at the M Gallery Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw.

During the meeting, discussions were held on promoting religious and cultural exchanges between Russia and Myanmar, investments in agriculture and livestock sectors, sharing advanced agricultural technologies and quality seeds, collaboration in organizing the 3rd International Buddhist Forum to be held in Kalmykia in September 2025, and strengthening cooperation in youth affairs, sports development, education, healthcare, and tourism.

The discussions also included plans to introduce the Myanmar language in Russian universities, send Myanmar students to study in Russia, and develop air travel connections and tourism between Kalmykia and Myanmar. Additionally, they explored future collaboration opportunities in hotel development and other sectors.

The meeting was attended by Union Ministers U Tin Oo Lwin, U Min Naung, Dr. Nyunt Pe, U Min Thein Zan, Deputy Ministers, senior departmental officials, the Russian Ambassador to Myanmar, and members of the delegation.In the evening, the delegation visited the Uppatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw, where they paid homage, made floral and water offerings to the Buddha image inside the cave of the pagoda, and donated cash.

They signed the guestbook and offered supplementary food to the white elephants housed at the Royal White Elephant Garden.Later, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin hosted a dinner in honor of Mr. Khasikov Batu Sergeevich at M Gallery Hotel.

The dinner was attended by State Administration Council Member U U Mahn Nyein Maung, Union Ministers, the Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council, Deputy Ministers, Nay Pyi Taw Council Members, the Russian Ambassador, and members of the delegation.

The delegation also visited the Maravijaya Buddha Image which is the world's tallest sitting marble Buddha image, and made floral, water, and candle offerings and observed the Gandhakuti (ဂန္ဓကုဋိ) chambers, Aggadhipati (အဂ္ဂါဓိပတိ) Sasana Beikman, and the stone inscription stupas where the Buddhist scriptures engraved on marble tablets using modern techniques in both Pali script and Romanized language in Buddha Park.
