Russian Delegation in Nay Pyi Taw: Visit to World’s Highest Sitting Maravijaya Buddha Image

Russian delegation led by External Relations Committee Chairman Mr. Grigoriev Evgeny Dmitrievich, a member of the St. Petersburg Government, visited the Maravijaya Buddha Image in Dekkhinathiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw.
The delegation visited the Buddha Image and observed the 24 special chambers around the platform of the Buddha Image, Agga Dhipati Sasana Beikman and stone plaques bearing inscriptions on Tri Pitaka treatises in Pali and Romanized languages in stone plaque chambers on which small pagodas are built.
They also visited the white elephant shed in the precinct of the pagoda and fed the white elephants. Also, they visited the Maniyadana Jade Hall to observe the sale of pearl lots, jade, jewellery and raw jade at the 2023-Mid Myanmar Gems Emporium.
