Russian Defence Minister votes on first day of presidential election

Russia began voting on Friday in an election which will run from March 15-17. According to the ministry statement, Russia's top militaries voted at one of the polling stations in Russia’s Southern Military District.

On the first day of presidential election, the Russian Defence Minister and the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces voted.Polling stations opened at 8:00 am local time on Friday and are set to close at 8:00 pm (1800 GMT) on Sunday.
