The Russian Defence Ministry showed the first joint naval drills with the Indonesian navy in the Java Sea. Russia sent the corvettes "Gromky", "Rezky", "Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov" and tanker "Pechenga".

The ministry added that "the crews practiced inspection of suspicious vessels and liberation of a mock ship captured by 'terrorists'", as well as fighting unmanned boats with "automatic artillery and small arms". The joint drills, dubbed "Orruda-2024," took place between November 4 and 8.
