Russia tests new cruise missile in Sea of Japan

Russia tested a new cruise missile from a submarine in the Sea of Japan, the Defence Ministry said in a statement Tuesday. The Marshal Shaposhnikov destroyer of the Pacific Fleet launched the new Otvet missile and successfully destroyed an underwater target, the ministry said.The Marshal Shaposhnikov had earlier this year undergone an extensive modernization upgrade and had been involved in the test launch of Kalibr cruise missiles in the Sea of Japan.
