Trade turnover between Russia and Kazakhstan is on the rise and having reached almost $30 billion already, Russian President Vladimir Putin said, ahead of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Astana.

Russia remains one of the main trade and economic partners for Kazakhstan, he said. In turn, his Kazakh counterpart Tokayev said that bilateral cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan is expanding, adding that he personally controls implementation of agreements reached during the Russian president’s visit to the public last November.
