






Deputy Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Myint Soe attended a ceremony to provide agriculture inputs to the farmers in YwaThitKone Village of KanGyiDaunt Township in Ayeyawady Region on 7th January.
The provision has been given to the members of the Cooperatives Association who grow green gram, and it was alloted from the State Economic Promotion Fund.
The Deputy Minister said the Ministry is prioritizing for socio-economic development of rural people who accounted for 70% of the total populations of the country.
The main objective of setting up the State Economic Promotion Fund is for boosting production of seasonal crops and promoting the socio-economic status of the families.
He urged all to make cooperative efforts for successful cultivation of winter crop green gram and summer paddy. The Deputy Minister and officials later presented the agriculture inputs for 101 farmers.
They then inspected the green gram plantation of Aung Myanmar Agriculture and General Trading Cooperatives Association, and gave instructions for extended cultivation of oil bearing crops for sufficiency of edible oil for local consumption and reducting the import.
It is learnt that 937 acres of Green Gram and 434 acres of summer paddy plantations are estimated to cultivate in KanGyiDaunt Township with the use of State Economic Promotion Fund.
The Deputy Minister later visited to the Office of the Rural Development Department in NyaungDone Township and met with the staff from four departments under the ministry.
He instructed for the success of work implementations of the ministry, cultivation works of green gram, summer paddy and extended cultivation of oil bearing crops.
