Rural Development: Union Minister makes inspections in Lewei Township

Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe on Friday afternoon met with members of the cooperative enterprise and locals in WelGyi Village of Lewei Township.

In this meeting, the Union Minister heard report on moonsoon paddy cultivation by 64 members on over 250 acres of farmland and production, the current vegetable crops cultivation and solar-powered irrigation system.

In his response, the Union Minister urged concerned officials to collect farm to maintain the solar-powered irrigation system and to repair related-equipment. He also urged farmers adn growers to practice triple crop planting system.

Also, the Union Minister pledged to provide assistance to get direct markets for products. And, he held talks with the farmers and growers and fulfilled their requirements before inspecting the vegetable crops cultivation.

In KwaeGyi Village, at the temporary briefing hall, the Union Minister met with members of the cooperative enterprise and locals, heard reports on agricultural matters, held talks with farmers and growers and fulfilled their requirements. And, the Union Minister inspected vegetable crops cultivation.
