Rural Development: Union Minister makes inspections in Bago Region

Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe with concerned officials made a field trip to succeed the cultivation of monsoon paddy with the state economic promotion fund, and timely completion of rural development activities in Bago Region on Monday.

First, the Union Minister and officials visited Yoonshan farm support camp in Tha Pyay Kone Village of Yedashe Township and met with officials and farmers who are cooperative enterprise members who will plant monsoon paddy with the state economic promotion fund.

During the meeting, he said that the government is providing the state economic promotion fund to develop the socio-economic life of rural people, job opportunities and increase the rate of families’ income.

The Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development is cooperating with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation for success of the country’s economic promotion activities in Yedashe Township.

And, he heard report on monsoon paddy cultivation with the state economic promotion fund in Bago Region and requirements of cooperative members, gave necessary assistances and viewed around the varieties of rice seeds displayed by the Great Wall Agricultural Company.

There, the Union Minister also inspected concrete paving in Village by the Department of Rural Development with the use of 2023-2024 Union Budget, heard report and called for efforts to meet the high-quality standards, to complete in a timely manner and maintain for long-term sustainability.

Upon completion, 3,200 foot long of concrete road will benefit 318 households. Also, the Union Minister provided water purifiers for the school in the village. Then, the Union Minister and officials met with the officials of the LuNgal ArrMan Agricultural and Multi-Business Cooperative Society Ltd., and farmers in Phyu Township, and they reported respective activities.

In his response, the Union Minister called on attendees to successfully carry out the cultivation of monsoon paddy with the state economic promotion fund and to effectively use farmland and fertilizers and gave necessary assistances.

Afterwards, the Union Minister and officials inspected the cultivation of GW 11 paddy, piggery, cattle breeding and cultivation of nivea grasses by the LuNgal ArrMan Agricultural and Multi-Business Cooperative Society Ltd., and planted the coconut trees.
