





Rural Development Supervisory Committee on Tuesday held its work coordination meeting 1/2024 at the hall of the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development in Nay Pyi Taw.
During the meeting, Union Minister U Hla Moe said that government is prioritizing the acceleration of production of agriculture and livestock-based products and the development of MSMEs industry to improve socio-economic lives of people in rural areas where 70% of the country’s population live. He also added that the committee is providing necessary inputs and cash assistance, market connection and research works for value-added products manufacturing.
Then, the Union Minister called for collective efforts of committee members for implementation of transportation access, irrigation and electricity distribution, vocational training development and enhancement of cooperative skills of the local residents.
Then, the attendees reported completion of the implementation of the decisions made in the previous meeting and rural development task during the 2023-2024 Fiscal Year.
During the meeting, attendees also made discussions on the sectors of basic infrastructure development, vocational development, agriculture and livestock sector development, environmental conservation, social and financial affairs, MSMEs development, budget allocation for 2024-2025 Fiscal Year rural development projects, livestock breeding and engineering.
