Rural Development: Operation of Rice Mill inspected

Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe accompanied by departmental officials inspected the operation of 90-ton Modern Rice Milling machine and 120-ton Paddy Dryer machine of ShweMyaing General Economic Enterprise, Cooperative Ltd in Shwe Myaing Thiri of Mawlamyaing Township on Wednesday morning.

The Union Minister provided necessary instructions on purchasing paddy from the mill, acceleration of monsoon paddy plantations, providing necessary agricultural inputs to the local farmers and operation of the mills at full capacity. ShweMyaing Rice Mill which contains 90-ton rice milling machine and 120-ton paddy dryer machine was opened on 1st of January this year.

The Rice Mill processes the paddy purchased from the local farmers and distribute them to local and international markets.  It also benefits the local food sufficiency, development of agricultural industry and socio-economic life of the local farmers.
