Rural Development: MCRD Union Minister tours in Tanintharyi Region

On 15th January, Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe accompanied by Tanintharyi Region Chief Minister U Myat Ko and concerned officials made inspection within Kawthaung Township for the development of cooperative enterprises.

First, Union Minster and party visited F.O.B camp in ShweHintha Ward and oversaw the operation process of import/export check point by the inspection teams and inspected the cooperative office.

Subsequently, the Union Minister and the Chief Minister met with the executive members of the cooperative enterprises at township Fisheries Department and stressed on systematic supervision of the export/import process and made discussions on regional development matters.

At SaiDin Village, the Union Minister and the Chief Minister met with the relevant officials and local residents, heard report on current work implementations under Smart Village, Responsible Business Fund (RBF)and Village Development Planning (VDP) projects.

Upon reports, the Union Minister assured the provision of necessary assistance in implementing sector wise development activities including technology distribution and social security measures and called for the concerted efforts of the local residents for the development of the village.

Later, the Union Minister and party overviewed the Village assembly hall, library and water supply measures, inspected the Sanpya market and local businesses and gave necessary instructions.

During the meeting with the local residents, the Union Minister encouraged them to join the vocational training courses to establish their own businesses with the support of the government. He also encouraged those who completed Grade-9 education to attend free cooperative accounting vocation training courses in order to join the cooperative colleges and universities.

Subsequently, the Union Minister and party visited ShwePyiSoe Village, met with the executive members and member farmers of the ShweWahTun agricultural cooperative association and stressed on unity of the members, providing necessary assistance to the farmers to increase income and improve living standards.

Afterwards, the Union Minister and party inspected concrete paving process of the road which connects Union Highway and Chaung Wa Village road and instructed on timely completion of the process meeting set standards and coordinated necessities.
