









Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe, together with the Region Minister for Transport and Communications and officials conducted a field inspection of rural development and cooperative activities in the Ayeyarwaddy Region on Saturday.
Their inspection began with a review of the Smart Village initiative in AbyinLal-U Village, Zalun Township to oversee the evaluation of the Emerald Green Village Project and the completion status of the Responsible Business Fund (RBF) Project.
The Union Minister called villagers for collaborative efforts for community development when the government is actively engaging and supporting from all aspects.
During the meeting, the Union Minister and concerned officials presented 30 million Kyats each from the Responsible Business Fund and the Smart Village Development Project Fund to the village committee members. And, they planted perennial shady trees such as Star flower, Gantgaw, Manjansha, Gumkino, Margosa and teak on village land.
Upon arrival at the PaSaNga-SoneKone-HtabinKan village road upgrade site, the Union Minister and party reviewed the progress of the concrete road project organized by the InGaPu Township Rural Road Development Department.
Next, the Union Minister met with farmers at InGaPu Township Hall, saying that the Ministry will provide technology for winter oil crops and monsoon paddy cultivation. He added that favorable economic results could lead to expanded cultivation in the future.
Afterward, the Union Minister and officials distributed funds to member farmers of 36 cooperative societies for planting over 1,400 acres of monsoon sunflower oil crops in MyanAung, InGaPu, and KyanKhin Townships.
During the meeting with trainees of basic sewing training course and locals in Oat Pho Village of Nyaungdon Township, they discussed regional development issues and coordinated the needs based on reports from the locals and trainees.
