Rural Development: Innovative model village for poverty reduction

Launching ceremony of Scaling Up Innovative Model Village for Village-Level Poverty Reduction among LMC Countries in Delta Region was held at Ohn Pin Su Village in Nyaungdon Township of Ayeyawady Region on Saturday.

Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe attended the ceremony, and made a speech. According to the project, infrastructures for production, social, vocational, education and environmental conservation will be provided, along with conduction training for technology.

The project will benefit over 690 individuals from more than 150 households in the village, enjoying more job opportunities with increased incomes, boosting production, market penetration, infrastructure development, socio-economic progress and capacity building.

After the ceremony, the Union Minister visited the road upgrading project site being implemented by Nyaungdon Township Rural Road Development Department. The road connecting Khattiya and Hngyet Pyaw Kyun Villages could benefit over 4,300 people from more than 900 households.
