











A ceremony on assisting fund to smart villages and closing ceremony of New Village Movement Basic Training Course 1/2024 took place at the Agricultural Extension and Rural Development Training Center in Zeya Thiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung urged all the heads of villages to strive for the unity of villagers for actively participation in village development projects and strive to develop as model villages.
Director General Dr. Ye Tint Tun later reported on current working processes and future plans. Then, the Union Minister provided assistance fund to model villages and Deputy Ministers presented completion certificates to trainees.
Current undertaking projects under the Ministry are aiming for conservation of environment by reducing fire wood utilization, promotion knowledge of farmers and locals concerning with climate change and conservation of natural environment and creation job opportunities by producing power stoves in implementing model villages.
On the same day, Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung and Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe together with the Deputy Ministers attended a ceremony on irrigated water distribution from Sin Thay Creekelectric pumping project in Kyan Phosu Village of Pobba Thiri Township.
The newly opened Kyan Phosu Electric Pump Station will benefit for summer crop cultivation on 450 farmland acres. Implementations are underway to distribute up to 90 farmland acres in 2024-2025 Fiscal Year.
