Rural Development: Efforts for infrastructure development in Ayeyawady Region

Hailing the 78th anniversary Union Day, a new road was opened in Thayet Village of Kyaung Kone Township in Ayeyawady Region on Sunday.

Deputy Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Myint Soe attended the opening ceremony and took part in ceremonial ribbon cutting event. With the budget allotment for 2024-2025 fiscal year, the Department of Rural Development has constructed a one-mile long production road for the benefit of local community.

After the ceremony, the Deputy Minister met with local villagers and urged all to made extended cultivation of oil crops in addition to paddy and beans and pulses, through the formation of cooperative associations to get access for quality species and agricultural inputs.

On February 8th, the Deputy Minister observed the road, connecting Shwe Ceti and Chin Lae Village from Pathein-Monywa Road, in Lay Myet Hna Township, for upgrading process, and the chosen site for Thida Creek Crossing Bridge in Papu Kwin Village of Yaykyi Township.

The Deputy Minister also met with the local community from seven village-tracts and explained the benefit gained for the villages once the bridge was completed. He urged all to make concerted efforts for ensuring peace and stability in the region and development of socio-economic status.
