





Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe, together with officials, visited the agricultural and livestock projects being implemented under the cooperative system in Lewe Township of Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory on Thursday.
They first visited a cattle farm in Talokpin Village. The farm is being operated jointly by the Doe Myanmar Cooperative Association and the Kyan Tine Aung Cooperative Association. During the visit, the Union Minister heard reports on current operations of the project and emphasized the need to bring in quality and pure-bred cattle before the rainy season.
He also inspected the cultivation of Napier grass and other fodder crops to ensure adequate feed for the cattle. They then proceeded to Yone Taw Village, where they inspected the summer paddy plantation. The Union Minister stressed the importance of implementing systematic farming practices to meet target yields for both summer and monsoon paddy.
He also called for the reorganization of cooperative societies by uniting like-minded and genuinely interested individuals. Following this, the Union Minister and party visited the vehicle and machinery storage warehouse in Dekkhinathiri Township, where temporary accommodations are being constructed for rural development department staff affected by an earthquake.
