Rural Development: Agricultural inputs and assisting farm implements

Urea Fertilizer Purchasing and Distribution Steering Committee held its coordination meeting on Thursday.

Union Minister forCooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe made a speech, in his capacity as the Committee Chairman, emphasizing the need to supervise for timely distribution of agricultural inputs. He urged all to carry out the tasks inline with the policies set for 2024-2025 fiscal year.

There are about 15 million acres of monsoon paddy plantations, and in addition, about 700,000 acres monsoon paddy plantations will be implemented by the State Economic Promotion Fund. Afterwards, the Union Minister oversaw the demonstration of farm implements at Kyaung Yay Village in Lewe Township.

The Village AgriculturalCooperative Association is comprised with 30 members, and Thai species paddy will be cultivated on 125 acres farmland of summer paddy, using the farm implements by the association, as well as the company and individuals. The plantations will be irrigated by Madam Dam. In Nay Pyi Taw Council area, over 4,000 acres farmland have been provided services from the cooperative associations,assisting 224 tractors.
