The MoU on Rule of Law and Human Right Action Plan between Union Attorney General Office and the Embassy of Denmark to Myanmar was signed in December 2016 and the action plans are being implemented annually since then.
4th Leading Committee Meeting regarding to Rule of Laws and Human Rights Action Plan was held at the meeting room of Union Attorney General Office in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday. Union Attorney General U Tun Tun Oo and Ambassador of Denmark to Myanmar Mr John Nielsen acted as the co-chairmen.
The Union Attorney General stressed that the strategic draft plan was drawn by the Rule of Law Center and Justice Coordination Group. After reviewing the advices from the respective organizations, it can be finalized soon.
He added that the researches have been done in implementing the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR). It brings a great benefit of getting a chance to study the judiciary, human right and rule of law of Denmark.
He reiterated that the Union Attorney General Office will continue to cooperate with Denmark Embassy for the development of rule of laws, human right and laws. The meeting agreed on the detail plans to implement in 2019.
