Road Upgrading: MOC Union Minister inspects road repair works

On 10th October, Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant accompanied by Deputy Minister and departmental officials inspected the upgrading of NaWin Creek Bridge (Ahsone) from 2-lane to 4-lane bridge at mile post No. 245/7 on Yangon-Mandalay Union Highway.

There, the Union Minister heard reports on completion of restoration tasks in damaged areas and transportation access. Upon reports, the Union Minister stressed on long-term resilience of the bridge, meeting set standards, systematic storage of temporary bailey bridges and road safety measures.

Subsequently, the Union Minister and party proceeded to Kintha conjunction, inspected the debris clearing in flood affected area, construction of toe walls, upgrading drainage system as well as the road restoration tasks and gave necessary instructions.

On arrival at Sin Thay Bridge (Poppa Kone), the Union Minister and party inspected the resilience of the bridge, measures to prevent from Sin Thay creek water flow and erosion.

Subsequently, the Union Minister and party visited Sin Thay Creek Bridge (Thaikchaung) and inspected the bridge restoration process and preparation to remove temporary bailey bridges when the restoration tasks are completed. The Union Minister also inspected the upgrading of Aye Lar road section on Yangon-Mandalay Old Union Highway.
