Road commissioned into service: MGY CM attended inauguration of road section in Magway

In honor of the 78th Anniversary of the Union Day, the opening ceremony of 24-feet-wide asphalt road in Taung Nyo (Pan Tin) - Myo Thit - Kan Pyar (Magway) Road (Magway Township section) was held on February 3 in Magway Township of Magway Region. The event was attended by Magway Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin, members of the Region Government, departmental officials, and local residents.

First, the asphalt road was officially opened by Magway Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin, Region Security and Border Affairs Minister Colonel Moe Min Thein, Transport Minister U Aung Thu Oo, Ethnic Affairs Minister U Tun Khin, and Magway Region Road Department Director U San Myint Aung, who cut the ribbon. A commemorative group photo was also taken.

Following this, the second part of the ceremony was held at a temporary pavilion, where the Chief Minister delivered a speech. He stated that the Taung Nyo (Pan Tin) - Myo Thit - Kan Pyar (Magway) Road, which was opened today, is a key road section managed by the Magway Region Road Department in Magway District. It serves as the main entrance to Magway Region and spans 79 miles and 4 furlongs, of which 56 miles and 6 furlongs (from mile 22/6 to 79/4) fall within Magway Region.

Specifically, 43 miles and 6 furlongs (from mile 22/6 to 66/4) are under the responsibility of Myo Thit Township, while 13 miles (from mile 66/4 to 79/4) are managed by Magway Township Road Department. He further mentioned that 13 miles in Magway Township and 7 miles in Myo Thit Township, totaling 20 miles, have been upgraded to 24-feet-wide asphalt roads. The remaining 36 miles and 6 furlongs of 18-feet-wide asphalt roads will also be upgraded to 24-feet-wide roads in a phased manner annually. He urged local residents to follow regulations to ensure the long-term durability and maintenance of the roads, which have been constructed by the state for safe and convenient travel.

Subsequently, Magway Region Transport Minister U Aung Thu Oo explained the details of the asphalt road construction. A local resident expressed gratitude, and the Chief Minister and officials inspected the newly opened road.
