Residents of Rocinh, Brazil's largest shanty Town are enduring the country's ongoing heat wave without electricity. Construction workers are managing the unusually high temperatures by staying hydrated and taking showers with a hose whenever possible.

In an effort to save money, many residents are walking to a concealed water source at the top of the town to access fresh water. The heat wave, persisting for several days, continues to impact Brazil, particularly in cities such as Rio de Janeiro State, where the heat index reached a record 58.5°C earlier this week.
