Rice Production: Profile book of Mon State Rice Millers introduced

A ceremony to introduce the profile book of Rice Millers Association in Mon State was held at Royal Mawlamyine Hotel in Mawlamyine on 5th April along with the presentation of collected data of the Rice Mill businesses.

At the event, Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein said the capabilities of the Rice Millers Association play a vital role for the development of the Rice Mill businesses. Mon State has 133 percent of rice sufficiency, producing over 0.467 million tons of rice every year and can mill 0.8 million tons per year.

So the milling capacity is sufficient for the output. He also instructed to produce more export quality rice and to strive for the rice as an important export item. Then officials clarified the profile of Rice Millers Association in Mon State, aims of the data collecting process and measures. Next, the Chief Minister and officials cordially greeted the members of the Rice Millers Association and viewed around the exhibition booths.
