Rice Export: Over 500mil USD worth of rice exported

During 2022-2023 fiscal year, a total of 500.406 million USD worth of rice has been exported via sea routes and border gates. To Bangladesh, the export of broken rice via sea routes is worth more than 205 million USD and the export via border gates has reached above 92 million USD.

The top rice and broken rice importing countries from Myanmar are China with more than 298 million USD, Belgium with above 122 million USD, the Philippines with more than 78 million USD, Bangladesh with more than 66 million USD, Spain with more than 42 million USD, Poland with more than 36 million USD, Italy with more than 27 million USD, Türkiye with more than 10 million USD and Romania with more than 9 million USD.

In addition, 96million USD worth of rice were exported to 36 other foreign countries. In accordance with the MoU between Bangladesh’s Directorate General of Food and Myanmar Rice Federation, 200,000 tons of Myanmar’s white rice were exported to Bangladesh and negotiations between the two countries will be taken for further exports in coming year.
