Rice Export: MoU between Myanmar and Bangladesh

Myanmar has exported 200,000 tons of rice to Bangladesh by sea trade according to the pact of Government to Government agreement between Myanmar and Bangladesh.

Myanmar and Bangladesh signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on rice trade on 8th September 2022. Under the MoU, Myanmar is to annually export about 250,000 tons of rice and 50,000 tons of parboiled rice to Bangladesh from 2022 to 2027.

Followed by the agreement, Myanmar exported rice from the ports of Yangon Region and Rakhine State to Bangladesh. And, toexport the last round of about 30,000 tons of rice, the ship MCL-7 has left Pathein Industrial port of Ayeyawaddy Region for Bangladesh in January this year.
