Rice distribution from Ayeyawady Region: Over 50,000 bags of rice distributed across the country per day

From Pyapon district of Ayeyawaddy Region, more than 50,000 bags of rice are being distributed per day across the country through the Yangon Region. Currently, around 200 of rice millsare running in Pyapone district and the prices of rice are higher than previous years.

Kyaw Win Than, Vice Chairman, Rice Federation (Pyapon), said " This year, the quality of rice has a little bit decreased due to the rains during the harvest season. About 50,000 bags of rice are being distributed from Pyapon district across the countryevery year. This year, therice prices have reached at highest and farmers got benefits from it.Also, there are around 200 large rice mills in Pyapon district and about 25 rice mills have already been registered in the township."

In Ayeyawaddy Region, cent per cent of rice has been planted every monsoon season and this year, the winter paddy planting has being extended with fertilizers provided by the government.
