



For revitalizing Myanmar’s tourism industry, the weekly meetings were held for the work plans to be cooperated between the government and private sectors to review the current situation of the country’s tourism sector by forming 5 working groups.
On Tuesday, Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Thet Thet Khine met Public-Private Technical Group including these groups by hybrid system. At the meeting, the Union Minister said that the meeting is to discuss the 44 results from the 4-week discussion based on the five key issues of the 5 working groups including the public sector and private associations.
Some of the outcomes of this meeting will be discussed in the tourism committee meeting. The government and private sectors must cooperate harmoniously in order to return the normal situation and make rapid progress although the tourism sector which was affected by the COVID-19 is recovering.
She stressed on adopting short and long term plans to identify the tourism attraction sites and the safe Travel Bubbles and holding tourism forum in cooperation with government and private organizations and entrepreneurs.
Later, Deputy Minister U Phyo Zaw Soe discussed matters on tourism forum and officials reported extraction from the weekly discussion of the working groups and future plans. Before concluding the meeting, representatives of the 5 working groups reported respectively.
