After four years of restoration, all 31 of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec’s posters are on display together for the first time in a retrospective exhibition. The show includes the posters alongside preparatory studies, some large-scale and others focused on intricate details. Such works on paper are rarely exhibited, making this event notable for their limited exposure.
Toulouse-Lautrec drew inspiration from the people and environments he knew, including famous cabarets like the Moulin Rouge. The exhibition also highlights his innovative approach to poster design, using synthesis to ensure his message was instantly clear to viewers. Toulouse-Lautrec’s ability to captivate audiences with simplicity and immediacy is showcased throughout the display.
