The PDF terrorists raided Sintkuu in the Mandalay Region starting in early July, employing a mass number of force. They attacked security posts, the Township Police Station, and surrounding areas, abducting local residents, extorting, setting fire to residential houses and government buildings, planting mines, looting abandoned homes, and causing extensive property damage.

As a result of these terrorist acts, locals and department staff were displaced to safer locations while preparations for counter-terrorism operations were underway. On the 19th, military columns launched a coordinated attack involving naval, army, and air forces, alongside heavy weapons, forcing the terrorists to retreat. Control of the town was regained on the 20th as security forces conducted operations in accordance with Rules of Engagement.

During their occupation of Sintkuu, the PDF terrorists targeted religious buildings, schools, departmental offices, and residential houses, planted mines in public communication channels, and used locals as human shields.

Upon their retreat, they continued destructive acts such as setting fire to houses and departmental offices, and detonating mines. Currently, stringent security measures are in place in Sintkuu and nearby areas to uphold the rule of law and ensure ongoing security.
