Response to Fake News: Some media releasing fake news to incite stability

An illegal media outlet is spreading misinformation, stating that houses were on fire due to heavy weapons attacks by Tatmadaw in Pauktaw Township and the Tatmadaw set houses on fire in Yanbye Township of Rakhine State.

Regarding this news, concerned officials said that Tatmadaw did not attack houses in Pauktaw Township with heavy weapons or set houses on fire in Yanbye Township. The damage to the houses were reportedly caused by the AA insurgents.  It’s learnt that the illegal media outlet is releasing this fake news with the intention of inciting the country’s stability.
