Respectful gathering: Kachin State CM provided cash and kind assistance

Organized by the Association for enhancement of Myanmar women and Children's livelihood, a respectful gathering, birthday celebration event for the elderly persons and funfair was heldat the Aung Zaw Yan Aung Home for the Aged in Myitkyina, Kachin State On October 31.

The event began with a respectful gathering for the elderly, where the Presiding Sayadaw of Aung Zay Yan Aung Monastery and Patron of Home for the Aged delivered thewards of advice, followed by a speech given by Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan. He expressed gratitude to everyone involved in organizing the celebrations and emphasized the importance of protecting the rights and meeting the needs of the elderly persons.

He urged that support, care, and respect for elders are values that should be instilled across society, including schools.Then, the Chairperson of the the Association for enhancement of Myanmar women and Children's livelihood clarified the purpose of the event.

The Chief Minister provided 1.1 million kyats, and the Patraon of the State Women’s Affairs Association contributed an additional 1.1 million kyats. In appreciation, a 90-year-old resident expressed gratitude on behalf of the home for the aged.

The Chief Minister, his wife, and other government officials then presented gifts and donations to the elderly persons. Entertainment included singing and performances, and they celebrated birthdays for seven elderly persons born in October. Everyone joined together in a joyful and memorable gathering for the elderly.
