Resettlement of IDPs: IDPs In Puta-O And Myitkyina Tsps Returned Homes

The Kachin State Government arranges necessaries for the IDPs from Sutpiyang  Village-Tract and Lonsharyang Village-tract in Puta-O District to Myitkyina Township due to the security reasons to resettle in their villages.

They were gathered at Manaw ground in Sitapu Ward of Myitkyina Township and transported them to their villages at 7:30 a.m. on 30th March. The Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan and state ministers, state advocate general, departmental officials, bishops and pastors from the Christian Churches and responsible officials cordially greeted the IDPs.

A total of 345 households comprised of 1370 people from Sutpiyang  Village-Tract and Lonsharyang Village-tract temporarily displaced to Puta-O Township, Myitkyina Township and forest in early March this year due to the security reasons and the state government coordinated with the relevant organizations for the IDPs to resettle in their villages and prevailing regional security.

The state government provided cash assistances and food for three months and relief items worth nearly 120 million Kyats and tranported them with 6 motor vehicles. among the IDPs, 263 households displaced to the churches and homes of relatives in Myitkyina Township, it’s reported.
