Research paper reading session: MoALI UM delivered an opening speech

The opening ceremony of research paper reading session commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Yayzin Agricultural University was held at the University's lecture hall on October 7 under the theme "Let’s Turn Challenges into Opportunities with Innovation for a Brighter Future."

The event was attended by Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation U Min Naung, Deputy Ministers, Directors-General, Rectors, retired Rectors of the Yayzin Agricultural University, professors, distinguished guests, faculty members from the university, researchers, and participants. In his opening speech, Union Minister U Min Naung emphasizing that, in most countries, the agricultural sector is the primary economic sector, and it remains crucial for developing countries.

He stated that continuous research is necessary for the development of agriculture, and that scientific research and innovations have historically enabled farmers to move from subsistence agriculture to long-term sustainable development.

He expressed that the research paper reading session commemorating the centenary of the University aims to ensure that the results of the research are practically disseminated and applied, to enhance cooperation between researchers and farmers, and to ensure that research outcomes and techniques are not confined to academic circles but reach the hands of the farmers.

He encouraged participants to collaborate and discuss ways to successfully implement and utilize research findings in agriculture.Next, the Director General of Planning Department clarified the purpose of holding research paper reading session and then, Union Minister, Deputy Ministers, distinguished guests and researchers posed for the documentary photo.

The research paper reading session are being held on 7th and 8th October and the professionals from various sectors will read 32 papers, it’s learnt.
