Research Development: 52nd Myanmar Health Research Congress in Yangon

52nd Myanmar Health Research Congress kicked off in Yangon on Monday.

The opening ceremony commenced by screening the video message sent by Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing. Then, Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win made a speech, saying that the congress is being held under the theme “Enhancing Research Integrity and Research Ethics”.

The papers to be submitted to the congress cover a wide range of subjects including COVID-19 awareness and vaccination, prevention and control of infectious drug-resistant tuberculosis and non-communicable diseases.The ministry has allotted over 1.1 billion kyats for conducting 201 research projects, and he pledge to continue assistance for development of research works.

After the opening ceremony, the Union Minister and party viewed round the research poster exhibition. Then the conference continued by presenting research papers on various topics. Among the research papers, prizes will be presented for basic research, applied research, health systems research, poster research and youth researcher.

In the afternoon, a program was held to honour the 10 year anniversary of Advanced Molecular Research Centre, donated by Korea International Cooperation Agency.
