Rescue operation underway as 108 killed in India landslides

At least 108 people were killed and dozens more injured in the southern Indian state of Kerala after days of heavy rainfall set off multiple landslides in a hilly region.

The government officials called it one of the worst natural disasters and more than 125 people were injured. The death toll rose throughout the day as rescue workers recovered more bodies from under debris, and the number was expected to rise as the search continued, according to government officials.
