Republican Lombardo sworn in as Nevada governor

Former Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo has become Nevada's 31st governor.

He took office Monday on a vow to raise criminal penalties, diversify the economy and become America's "education governor. “He’s promoting vouchers and wants to increase student discipline. His swearing-in took place quickly at the state Capitol. It's a formality, since Monday marks the deadline for his term to start. A more ceremonial event will take place Tuesday.
