Repatriation work program: MoIP Union Minister meets UNHCR Resident Representative

Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing received Resident Representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to Myanmar Ms Noriko Takagi and delegates at the Union Minister office in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday.

On the occasion, the two sides frankly discussed expiring MoU between the Ministry and UNHCR for the acceptance of displaced people from Rakhine state, responsibilities to be observed by the two sides for signing new MoU again, work process to be implemented, compiling the usages to be amended, added and approved in the new MoU as soon as possible  by the two sides, extending visa term of foreigners from UNHCR including resident representative during this period and participation in the repatriation prcessess of displaced people from Rakhine state through constructive manner by understanding the efforts of Myanmar.
