Repatriation of Illegal Immigrants: Supervisory Committee meeting held in Nay Pyi Taw

Supervisory Committee on Repatriation of Illegal Immigrants held a meeting with Heads of Foreign Missions and diplomats in Myanmar on Wednesday. Committee Chairman Deputy Minister for Home Affairs Maj-Gen Toe Yi discussed the measures to deport the illegal immigrants who involve in the online fraud cases, the scrutinizing process in line with the law and regulations and taking effective action to those manipulate the online scams.

He also explained the cooperative efforts with Chinese authorities in combating online scams. The meeting discussed ways to tackle the obstacles being faced in deportation process. From January 2022 to November 22nd 2024, a total of 1,242 foreigners have been deported to their natives in line with the procedures.
