Repatriation of Displaced Persons: MOIP Union Minister receives UNHCR delegation

Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing received Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations and the Assistant High Commissioner for Operations of the UNHCR, Mr. RaoufMazou and the delegation at the meeting hall of the Ministry on Thursday.

During the meeting, both sides forthrightly discussed the signing of MoU between Ministry and UNDP-UNHCR for the repatriation of the displaced people from Rakhine State, the expiration of the MoU while making preparations to extend the MoU, upgrading the MoU in line with the current situation, collaboration of Myanmar and Bangladesh for the repatriation and the resettlement of the displaced people and the tasks to be implemented after signing the amended MoU.
