Repatriation Arrangements: Inspection in Maungtaw Township

Chairman of the Rakhine State Stability, Peace and Development Work Coordination Committee, Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen TunTunNaung and Union Minister for Immigration and Population U MyintKyaing visited Hla Phoe Khaung Transit Camp in Maungtaw Township on Saturday.

The In-charge of the Camp reported on the preparation measures for repatriation of the displaced persons from Rakhine State as per the pilot project. The Union Ministers gave instructions for systematic measures through cooperation and coordination.

On arrival at Ngakhuya Reception Camp, they inspected the arrangements for immigration process and health screening tasks. They then proceeded to Taungpyo Letwei Reception Camp, and inspected the arrangements for checking bio data of the returnees.

The Union Ministers later went to Maungtaw and inspected the training, being conducted at the Women’s Vocational Training School and renovation works at the Training Schools for development of nationalities youth from border areas.
