Renovation Works : Repairs on Paung Laung Dam Spillway nearly complete

Repair works are underway at Paung Laung Dam spillway after it was affected by the September 2024 flood due to Typhoon Yagi, when large logs carried by strong currents damaged the spillway’s stone surface and water channel, although the main structure remained intact.

On Saturday, Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation U Min Naung, together with Deputy Minister U Bo Bo Kyaw, inspected the progress of repair works at the spillway near Kyitaung Village in Nay Pyi Taw Zeyathiri Township.

Officials reported on completion of works with 95% of the repair work has been completed. The Union Minister urged for the work to be completed before the monsoon intensifies, and emphasized the importance of long-term safety and durability.
